Creative Cooking Adventures of Leftover Food

Introduction

  • A Creative leftover food recipe activity was organized for classes 7 B & 8 B on 02/8/24 to raise awareness about reducing food wastage.

  • The event aimed to Understand the importance of reducing food waste.

  • Learn various leftover food recipes.

  • Identify essential cooking techniques


Participation

  • Around 90 students from classes 7 B & 8B enthusiastically participated.

  • Each student created a recipe showing the proper use of the leftover food.


Execution

  • Students were given 1 hours to garnish and present their food.

  • Students made the recipe and presented it on the table with their group members.


Outcome

  • Reduce food waste.

  • Develop cooking skills.

  • Encourage creativity and resourcefulness.

  • Demonstrate teamwork and communication skills.


  • Interdisciplinary Connections:

    1. Math: measuring ingredients, scaling recipes.

    2. Science: understanding food safety, nutrition.

    3. Language Arts: recipe writing, food description.

  • The activity was a success in engaging students and spreading awareness.
